What we set up
- Numbers, including keeping the one your customers already have
- Handsets on desks, and softphones for staff who work from anywhere
- Call flow: who rings first, who rings next, and where it lands at 5pm
- After-hours and holiday routing, so nothing rings into an empty room
- Voicemail that reaches somebody, usually by mail
- Call recording and reporting where a business needs it
The network comes first
Voice runs over the same connection as everything else, so a phone system installed without looking at the network is how you end up with calls that break up whenever somebody uploads a file. We look at the line and the switching before quoting the phones, which is one advantage of the people doing your phones also doing your network.
Questions we get asked
- Can we keep our existing number?
- Usually yes. Porting a number is routine, and we sort it out with the carriers as part of the job.
- What happens if the internet goes down?
- Calls can be set to fail over to mobiles so the business stays reachable. That is worth configuring before you need it rather than during.
- Do we need handsets on desks?
- Not necessarily. Plenty of businesses run entirely on software handsets and headsets now. It depends on how your people actually work.
