Business hosting

This is the moving-to-the-cloud side of the business, and it covers four things people usually buy from four different places: your website, your email, and whichever of Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace your staff actually work in.

The four parts

  • Web hosting for sites we build and sites we inherit, patched and backed up rather than left alone until something is exploited
  • Hosted email, with your own domain, on infrastructure that does not lose mail
  • Microsoft 365, including mail, Teams, the desktop applications and file storage
  • Google Workspace, where that is what your people already know

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace

Both do the same job well. The right answer is usually whichever one your staff already use without thinking, because the cost of retraining an office is larger than the difference between the two products.

Where it does matter: businesses running Windows desktops and Office documents all day tend to be happier on Microsoft 365, and businesses that live in a browser tend to be happier on Google Workspace. We will give you the honest comparison for how your people work rather than the one with the better margin.

Moving without losing anything

Migrations happen out of hours where they can. Mail moves with its history and folder structure intact, calendars and contacts come across, and the old system stays reachable until the new one has proven itself. Nobody should arrive on Monday to find eight years of mail missing.

Why it sits with the people who run your network

The website, the domain, the mail records and the network are tangled together. Change one and another breaks, and when three suppliers hold them, a fault turns into an argument about whose fault it is. Holding all of it removes the argument.

Questions we get asked

Is this the same thing as your cloud solutions page?
They overlap, and deliberately. Hosting is the four products above, set up and run for you. The cloud page is about deciding what should move in the first place and what is better left on a machine in your building.
Can you take over hosting for a site somebody else built?
Usually. We look at what it is built on first, because some inherited sites carry problems that moving them will not fix.
Can you move our email without downtime?
Close to it. Mail is delivered to both the old and new systems during the changeover, so nothing bounces while the change propagates.
Do you run your own data centre?
No. Private and hosted data centres are not something we offer. We work on established platforms rather than running our own.
